The Birds & The Bees!

The rain has kept us inside this weekend, but that doesn't stop us from having fun!  Hailey has made so many bird friends... because she's just like Cinderella, you know . Last summer, we drilled a bird feeder into the shutter outside her window and we've have so much fun watching all the colorful birds come to eat! They have been through a whole bag of feed so far, and apparrently a squirrel has enjoyed the seeds as well...notice the top has been removed....stinker!  Poor Lindsey has a hard time not scaring them away, because she gets so excited, followed by a slap on the window and shouting, "Look!" As much as we love to bird watch, I never thought about capturing Hailey's bird friends with my camera.  She has given them all names...and of course the same birds from last year have returned to her window to say hello, eat, play peek a boo and sing.  So....everyone, please meet Thomas....the Cardinal .       ...

It's a Girls Weekend!!

That's right...Chris went camping this weekend, which means only 1 thing! It's Girl time.  Not that we're celebrating daddy leaving, but Hailey knows that when he goes away, she...along with Lindsey, gets to sleep with me & be girly! The weekend started early this afternoon with some down time & naps, then it was time to make plans.  Yep, Pizza Picnic Party in the living room, followed by cupcakes(or "pupcakes" as Lindsey calls them) while watching the movie, 'Bailey, the lost puppy'...we just love the talking animal movies! Both girls love books and we normally read books before bed time..but since I cleaned out closets last weekend, that has become the new play area. So it was only appropriate to have a little camp out in Hailey's closet with a new book that came with a projector showing different "famous" places on earth...yes, we had a science and geography lesson. Last but not least...we ended the fun with a night cap benadry...

My famous girls...

Whether it's trying her darnest to fly a kite and instead of getting upset, having a blast running down the hill pulling it behind her.... The Roanoke Times 09' Or listening to instructions for an Easter Egg Hunt at the Library...... (The Botetourt View 12'...and Lindsey is the blur in the background with Mimi...) Apparrently someone else besides me likes to take picures of my girls! The Fincastle Herald 12'

Happy 21st!

Happy 21st month of life, Lindsey Grace! We are so blessed to have Lindsey in our lives...she is full of joy and cuteness.  She is learning new things everyday.  This month she has certainly advance in her knowledge, answering "yes" and "no" questions correctly.  She is learning songs and loves to dance just like her big sister.  She loves to say her own bedtime prayers and pretend play more with her babydolls and stuffed animals. We play alot of "car ride games" along with our "car ride lessons" and one of Lindsey's favorites is Name That Tune!"  Her vocabulary has increased so every chance she gets, it's "my turrrrrrn!" Her 4 favorite songs are, Happy Birthday, Jingle Bells, Frossy the Snowman(aka Frosty the Snowman) and Tinkle Tinkle Liddol Tar(aka Twinkle Twinkle Little Star). She is able to sing most of the chorus with the help of her big sister.  Hailey is teaching her so much, yes...Lindsey is able to count to 20 an...

Easter 2012

Easter morning came in a hurry...at least for Lindsey.  She was up early and immediately went to Hailey's room to wake her up.  Hailey has become quite the sleeper, but is such a good sport.  She agreed to get up and return to bed after finding their baskets that the Easter bunny had left.  Lindsey found hers first... (p.s. ~ I noticed that the Hailey/Lindsey ratio of pics is way off...but Hailey doesn't mind. Actually she's over getting her pic taken at this stage in life.)   Books! Lindsey was excited to open her eggs... "Mommy, I'm eating jelly beans for breakfast...and you're not mad?!" the beginning of a very colorful mess! Sweet Easter Basket + Max & Ruby on the TV + Church time and then another Easter celebration at Pop & Mimi's = HAPPY EASTER!! They found their Easter baskets quickly...even table top. Lindsey loves the eggs...especially when their are "good" surprises in them. YAY fo...
