The Birds & The Bees!

The rain has kept us inside this weekend, but that doesn't stop us from having fun!  Hailey has made so many bird friends...because she's just like Cinderella, you know. Last summer, we drilled a bird feeder into the shutter outside her window and we've have so much fun watching all the colorful birds come to eat! They have been through a whole bag of feed so far, and apparrently a squirrel has enjoyed the seeds as well...notice the top has been removed....stinker!  Poor Lindsey has a hard time not scaring them away, because she gets so excited, followed by a slap on the window and shouting, "Look!" As much as we love to bird watch, I never thought about capturing Hailey's bird friends with my camera.  She has given them all names...and of course the same birds from last year have returned to her window to say hello, eat, play peek a boo and sing.
So....everyone, please meet Thomas....the Cardinal.
                                                             Lindsey was so excited!
But he came back several times....

Meet, Bubble the Chickadee...(he was her favorite last year)

Meet, Hokie...(unsure what kind of bird he is...)

As last, but not least, meet...Snap & Clap(I believe they're finches)

This weekend has been lots of fun with my girls. We've been busy in the craft box and playing boards games(candyland and Olivia chutes & ladders) as well as "made-up" games which are the best! Both girls made wrist cuffs out of toilet paper rolls that look like bumble bees at Mimi's house, so that was HUGE this weekend...sorry no pics in action...I was too busy running from 2 of the cutest pretend bees that were trying to sting me.

Ahhh, weekends go by way too fast!

Finalized! ~ Hailey's Ballerina Bedroom Redo

I am totally singing the  HALLELUJAH CHORUS !  After months of contemplating Hailey's bedroom redo and realizing after I started that this was harder than expected with tons of DIY projects...it's DONE!!   Well, at least for now.  Possible that I will continue with cosmetic procedures later, but for now...here it is... Just a walk down memory lane... even though it's totally embarrassing with overflow of clutter in which I strongly dislike... Oh my...look at the bedskirt, lol!  Felt a tad bit sorry for Lindsey who thought she belonged with her favorite stuffed animals in the hammock.... But anyway, after painting her walls pink and hand painting sillhouettes of ballerinas...it was on!  I have been so greatful that God placed the perfect people in my path to finish Hailey's room with one of the Dance mom's, Jenna Pratt who exchanged a ballerina comforter set plus pillows and curtains for a video baby monitor...absolutely perfect! ...

Hailey's Dance Recital 2012

May 29, 2012...Hailey's 2nd time on the big stage!  Here she is getting ready for her 1st tap dance rehersal/recital as Pocahontas!  She's been waiting for this and loves make-up & hair day!  Lindsey enjoyed the almost vacant auditorium & watching with her friend Ella Pratt for their rehersal After rehersal...it was time to get ready for the real deal...so Mommy/Daughter mani's it was June 2, 2012...the Real Deal...can't even describe her excitement and once again, she insisted that she had no nervous bones in her body.                              Backstage with her dance friends...Autumn & Hailey Hailey & Kennedy sit in the balcony, waiting for the recital to start(at the Roanoke Civic Center)              ...

Down memory lane - Winter 2013

If there's one thing I love most, it's snow days!! Down time with fun in the snow and hot chocolate, cuddles and watching some of our favorites like Toot & Puddle, Franklin, Little Bear, The Berenstain Bears, Olivia, The Backyardigans, Sofia the First...or any Christmas movie, especially the Polar Express!  We love snow days!!                                   Nothing better than waking up to snow and homemade fun. The girls decided to dress up our snowlady and chose Snow White after looking through their dress-up clothes...neither of them wanted snow white to melt....   After thawing out and a warm bath, Lindsey always enjoyed playing with her playhouse and would always holler for me to come find her and let me know she was in her house. She loved how she could fit inside and imagination play.... . Lindsey started getting a cold but continued to smile....I mean, who doesn't love that baby...
