I am totally singing the HALLELUJAH CHORUS! After months of contemplating Hailey's bedroom redo and realizing after I started that this was harder than expected with tons of DIY projects...it's DONE!! Well, at least for now. Possible that I will continue with cosmetic procedures later, but for now...here it is...
Just a walk down memory lane...
even though it's totally embarrassing with overflow of clutter in which I strongly dislike...
Oh my...look at the bedskirt, lol! Felt a tad bit sorry for Lindsey who thought she belonged with her favorite stuffed animals in the hammock....
But anyway, after painting her walls pink and hand painting sillhouettes of ballerinas...it was on! I have been so greatful that God placed the perfect people in my path to finish Hailey's room with one of the Dance mom's, Jenna Pratt who exchanged a ballerina comforter set plus pillows and curtains for a video baby monitor...absolutely perfect!
With tons of primer, spray paint, left over wall paint and Pinterest ideas, I was able to redo Hailey's toy box...
Now back to the "old" room for more observation of embarrassment....(don't know why it turned out sideways?)
But anyway...turned out so cute and less cuttered after an old high school friend offered some free furniture including a beautiful white wardrobe and dresser! So blessed with good friends...thank you Lori Dalton Hedrick (www.lorihedrickphotography.com)! Hailey loves her wardrobe because it reminds her of Cinderella, plus the girls thought it would give them a great hiding space...
I don't think I'll ever put away baby pictures!
Wanted to keep Hailey's nook space, so I turned her bookcase horizontal at the base of her bed, and added some of her body pillows along with some favorite stuffed animals to keep it company whenever she's away...
I kept the shoe bag on the inside of Hailey's closet door for extra storage space and nailed the bottom half of the make-up/travel bag that I strapped to the back of my car seats to the walls inside her closet...nothing in the pockets yet, but probably won't take long!
I really loved the picture above Hailey's desk...the way it used to be, but we changed everything and there is no space for her ballerina picture...:( We decided to save it for future use. Here's the way it used to look...(again, sideways picture...sorry)
We moved her desk and placed her new dresser in it's place. Hailey really wanted a mirror like Snow White(but pink, of course)...you know, "mirror, mirror on the wall...". So after looking for weeks at all the Goodwill and Antique stores in the Roanoke Valley, my patience ran out and we found a mirror that was girly, but not pink...so, DIY project began...
And with the help of my 5 year old.....(painting it pink!)
WAAAA LAAA!! Turned out cute! Along with her white dresser! The picture doesn't do it justice! Also to the left, sitting on her dresser, is a porcelain train...if you don't know me, I keep everything...everything sentimental. This porcelain train had flowers in it, the night Hailey was born, which my dad brought to the hospital. It now holds Hailey's "girly" things, such as lotions and nail polish...who would've thought.
We moved Hailey's desk in the corner, beside her window....
Painted the wooden letters and placed the Willow figurine...even with the happy birthday sign broken...we need to fix this! That was given to Hailey at the hospital the night Hailey was born by Beth Whitacre.
Can't forget the Responsiblity Chart! I am so very proud of this...placed it behind Hailey's door, so she can put her "awesome, great job" magnets by the tasks and behaviors that she has completed!
Hailey loves her finished room...and so does Lindsey.
Sisterly Love ~ I cherish these precious moments! Hailey reading Lindsey the book Nemo...in her Cubbies vest and Lindsey has her special flower/fairy head piece on...sweet.
Glad Hailey's room redo is complete, but overall...the words, "You're the BEST Mom...EVER! Along with her animated/excited face and sweet smile meant even more!
