Well, this was our last weekend of normalcy...and there it went in a flash. Or, maybe our "normal" is getting ready to begin?
Hailey enjoyed time with my parents on Sat, which was therapy for both of them after not seeing each other for a whole week! Yes, mom had surgery July 26th to remove her gallbladder after an attack and finding about 9 stones. Lesson: Never Assume! We thought that her surgery would be outpatient, but after finding a belly button hernia during an ultrasound, they decided to repair it as well when they went in...and then...found more stones in her bile duct, but had to consult with another surgeon before another endoscopic procedure to remove them as well. So...never assume! But, she is doing well and has missed the girls terribly! Anyway, back on track...they took Hailey to a play, The Sound of Music, which is one of her favorites! Yes, she can actually sit and watch this..what, 3hour movie?...over and over again.
And while, they were out, Lindsey and I had cuddle time & enjoyed simple play and watching movies together. Although, she has decided to clinch her eyes shut for pictures, so she can smile bigger..
So, from the time Hailey got home and Sunday evening, I think I cleaned the house 3 times over...but tried to have fun and allow some mess, making forts and pretending to be in the olympics with the girls. Hailey has decided that she will be participating in the future "lymptics" in either ballet or swimming, but has also decided to be on team China because they have better food. She also has learned alot about the game of Volleyball, but still doesn't understand why team USA is so persistent on wearing their "undies"... She really loves the gymnastics too! But has decided that maybe she'll stick with ballet, because of her question, "what happens if they don't land on their feet?" With that said, I reminded her of the exact same reason she, along with Lindsey do not need to be attempting summer saults on the sofa or jumping off onto cushions on the floor! So, instead...I guess she thinks it's okay to climb...ugh.
Okay, so I need a secret drawer or shelf somewhere else for their snacks!
Both of the girls have stuffy noses and were on the go all day, so night night time came a bit early tonight...so we thought.
Neither of the girls enjoy bedtime and are rarely in the bed on time. Hailey has the same ritual every night, but things changed tonight after daddy attempted to play mommy...which ended up not so well. So, at 8:20pm, both girls were in the bed...might I add, is a new record in this house! Even Lindsey was so pooped out, that she couldn't wait for the laundry to be put away....
Poor Hailey was thrown off so bad that it took an extra 45mins for her to fall asleep...after:
1. 2 prayers
2. a cup of water
3. a story about a princess named Hailey who lived in a castle made of candy
4. a bathroom break
5. 1 more prayer
6. 5 hugs & kisses
7. Singing lullaby x 2
8. rubbing her back
9. more lullabies on her music player
10. her favorite blanket & stuffed animal
11. a little tickling & laughing...shhh, don't tell daddy...I had to see a smile:)
12. a tissue for her stuffy nose and request for coconut oil swab in her nose (that's my girl!)
13. more hugs & kisses
14. promises made that morning would come in a few hours
.....yes folks, I'm not kidding! I think we need to stick to the same routine...everynight! She's a kid that obviously does NOT do well with change!
So, after this weekend...did I say of "normalcy?", starts weekends full of weddings, school shopping, awana, dance, school...and vacation!! Yes! This family is going to the BEACH!!
