All good things must come to an end

This weekend marked the end for: 1). Swimming Lessons & 2). Awana...at least for a few months...

I was so proud of Hailey for finishing her swimming lessons, even though she did not want to.  She will definitely have to take the beginners class again soon to become more comfortable in the water.  But overall, she did well...through all the tears, she finally jumped in, blew bubbles in the water(or as she says, "Mom! I blew my nose in the water!") and swam with her backpack float.  And of course, on the last day, she decided to go under in the kiddie pool...but only once, that was enough! She actually said she was proud of herself...that's all that matters.

Even Lindsey showed her brave bone and went under too...well, accidentally, but she came up without coughing. Just a little freightened look, which quickly turned into a smile.  She is fearless!

Sunday, May 6, 2012: Awana ended with a cookout and an awards ceremony....

Lindsey kept giving all of her hugs away and enjoyed being held by strangers nice strangers & of course, Mrs. Penny.  We will miss Mrs. Penny...looking forward to September(when awana starts again...Hailey will move up to Sparks & Lindsey will be old enough to be a Puggle!)

Hailey was excited when she realized that she would get an award tonight!...but mine was a total surprise!!  Yes, I received a 'Awana Helper' pin and a $5 Kroger gift card & Hailey received a little Cubbie Bear, her Diploma & the book that she completed, extra awana bucks & a patch for her vest.

And of course we couldn't leave without taking pictures with Mrs. Penny and the gang....

Wow...what are we going to do with extra time?  A little R & R sounds nice...so what's better than a little DIY mani & pedi with my girl.  Although you almost can't tell who's foot is who's since she keeps growing...way too fast! (Hailey has the purple toe ring & mine is the green butterfly)

Finalized! ~ Hailey's Ballerina Bedroom Redo

I am totally singing the  HALLELUJAH CHORUS !  After months of contemplating Hailey's bedroom redo and realizing after I started that this was harder than expected with tons of DIY projects...it's DONE!!   Well, at least for now.  Possible that I will continue with cosmetic procedures later, but for now...here it is... Just a walk down memory lane... even though it's totally embarrassing with overflow of clutter in which I strongly dislike... Oh my...look at the bedskirt, lol!  Felt a tad bit sorry for Lindsey who thought she belonged with her favorite stuffed animals in the hammock.... But anyway, after painting her walls pink and hand painting sillhouettes of ballerinas...it was on!  I have been so greatful that God placed the perfect people in my path to finish Hailey's room with one of the Dance mom's, Jenna Pratt who exchanged a ballerina comforter set plus pillows and curtains for a video baby monitor...absolutely perfect! ...

Hailey's Dance Recital 2012

May 29, 2012...Hailey's 2nd time on the big stage!  Here she is getting ready for her 1st tap dance rehersal/recital as Pocahontas!  She's been waiting for this and loves make-up & hair day!  Lindsey enjoyed the almost vacant auditorium & watching with her friend Ella Pratt for their rehersal After rehersal...it was time to get ready for the real deal...so Mommy/Daughter mani's it was June 2, 2012...the Real Deal...can't even describe her excitement and once again, she insisted that she had no nervous bones in her body.                              Backstage with her dance friends...Autumn & Hailey Hailey & Kennedy sit in the balcony, waiting for the recital to start(at the Roanoke Civic Center)              ...

Down memory lane - Winter 2013

If there's one thing I love most, it's snow days!! Down time with fun in the snow and hot chocolate, cuddles and watching some of our favorites like Toot & Puddle, Franklin, Little Bear, The Berenstain Bears, Olivia, The Backyardigans, Sofia the First...or any Christmas movie, especially the Polar Express!  We love snow days!!                                   Nothing better than waking up to snow and homemade fun. The girls decided to dress up our snowlady and chose Snow White after looking through their dress-up clothes...neither of them wanted snow white to melt....   After thawing out and a warm bath, Lindsey always enjoyed playing with her playhouse and would always holler for me to come find her and let me know she was in her house. She loved how she could fit inside and imagination play.... . Lindsey started getting a cold but continued to smile....I mean, who doesn't love that baby...
