I love, love, love watching my girls active, seeing how they are growing & making new friends...BUT what I love even more it staying at home and enjoying every second! This Memorial Day weekend has already been a blast!
It was super hot outside today and what else could we do but go buy a slip n' slide! It was a winner, especially for Hailey. Lindsey was napping when we started and was a bit timid after she woke up, but still had fun....
Low & behold, all Lindsey needed was some energy from a capri sun & some fritos...
Poor thing, 2T clothes/bathing suits are just too big for a 25lb 22month old!
Lindsey had to inspect & kiss Hailey's boo-boo....and it was all better.
Staying hydrated!
After all the fun in the sun, a little rest & dinner...it was time to catch the summer's 1st fireflies! Hailey decided to capture hers in her empty purple bubble container...
Oh, and we have a family of Rabbits in our backyard...if you look directly at the middle of this pic, you'll seeing the ginormous father(with the glowing eye)...we followed him and think they live under our shed, but he tricked us and fled the scene...hopping into our front yard & across the street. He'll be back. We frequently see him in the mornings.
Lindsey gave up on catching fireflies & became a poor sport quickly...it's just hard at night to follow them. After I caught one and tried to let her hold it, she became scared & decided that swinging on the swing set was her best option while Hailey & I tried to catch more.
Hailey changed that firefly's location and wanted to keep it as her nightlight, but after a little talk, we decided to let him go back home....
Hailey said, "I'm sorry firefly...I didn't mean to hurt you. Go back to your family. LOOK MOM! He likes me! I think he wants to stay with ME!" No Hailey, he's probably still in shock...just let him go...and so she did.
