A Piece of Paradise

Off on our honeymoon to Ocho Rios, Jamaica...from Roanoke->Charolette->Montego Bay!!  We were sooooo excited, but exhausted from leaving in the weeee hours in the morning...things start getting fuzzy from there, lol!
Yay!!  We made it to Montego Bay...little did we know, we still had hours on a, so called dirt road w/ several stops for shopping & Red Stripes until we finally made it to the RIU in Ocho Rios...

                                       Beautiful view from our room
Chris gettin' ready to show off his beach volleyball skillz
While we were sitting on one of the lobby patios, waiting to eat dinner...
Part of the RIU, where we stayed...taken while we were on a paddleboat...yes, I said a paddleboat, lol!  We were a little far out, needless to say, we got our exercise for the week getting back to dry land, lol!

Jamaica is just beautiful!  Other than the town people in the boats & standing in the water that were dying to braid my hair, and wanted us to buy anything from homemade necklaces to illegal substances...it was perfect!  Don't get me wrong, the Jamaican people were nice...especially after we explained that we were on our honeymoon....and Chris was a policeman(okay, so that's not true, but it sure did make them STOP asking us if we wanted any illegal stuff!).

Can you tell we LOVED the food!!  And notice the wine glasses in the bottom pic...look familiar?  Yep, they're in my cabinet...compliments of ME!  Long story short, we were supposed to get a honeymoom pkg including wine, choc. covered strawberries or a fruit platter in our room upon arrival...well, someone dropped the ball & bridezilla wasn't very happy!  After discussing this w/ mgmt, we returned to our room to find....a rinky dink plate with fruit from the fruit bar!  NOT FUNNY...so, we took the matter into our own hands & needless to say, brought home some pretty awesome RIU souvenirs!!

Finalized! ~ Hailey's Ballerina Bedroom Redo

I am totally singing the  HALLELUJAH CHORUS !  After months of contemplating Hailey's bedroom redo and realizing after I started that this was harder than expected with tons of DIY projects...it's DONE!!   Well, at least for now.  Possible that I will continue with cosmetic procedures later, but for now...here it is... Just a walk down memory lane... even though it's totally embarrassing with overflow of clutter in which I strongly dislike... Oh my...look at the bedskirt, lol!  Felt a tad bit sorry for Lindsey who thought she belonged with her favorite stuffed animals in the hammock.... But anyway, after painting her walls pink and hand painting sillhouettes of ballerinas...it was on!  I have been so greatful that God placed the perfect people in my path to finish Hailey's room with one of the Dance mom's, Jenna Pratt who exchanged a ballerina comforter set plus pillows and curtains for a video baby monitor...absolutely perfect! ...

Hailey's Dance Recital 2012

May 29, 2012...Hailey's 2nd time on the big stage!  Here she is getting ready for her 1st tap dance rehersal/recital as Pocahontas!  She's been waiting for this and loves make-up & hair day!  Lindsey enjoyed the almost vacant auditorium & watching with her friend Ella Pratt for their rehersal After rehersal...it was time to get ready for the real deal...so Mommy/Daughter mani's it was June 2, 2012...the Real Deal...can't even describe her excitement and once again, she insisted that she had no nervous bones in her body.                              Backstage with her dance friends...Autumn & Hailey Hailey & Kennedy sit in the balcony, waiting for the recital to start(at the Roanoke Civic Center)              ...

Down memory lane - Winter 2013

If there's one thing I love most, it's snow days!! Down time with fun in the snow and hot chocolate, cuddles and watching some of our favorites like Toot & Puddle, Franklin, Little Bear, The Berenstain Bears, Olivia, The Backyardigans, Sofia the First...or any Christmas movie, especially the Polar Express!  We love snow days!!                                   Nothing better than waking up to snow and homemade fun. The girls decided to dress up our snowlady and chose Snow White after looking through their dress-up clothes...neither of them wanted snow white to melt....   After thawing out and a warm bath, Lindsey always enjoyed playing with her playhouse and would always holler for me to come find her and let me know she was in her house. She loved how she could fit inside and imagination play.... . Lindsey started getting a cold but continued to smile....I mean, who doesn't love that baby...
