6 YEARS!! ~ You know you're in love when...

Dec 3, 2011 was our 6th wedding anniversay and this December marks our 9th year together!  Wow...so much has happened in the 6 years we've been married and we are so blessed with our 2 special little girls, a roof above our heads and much more!
So Chris decided to plan our day...just the 2 of us!  It all started with a few pictures, lol...#1 ~ You know you're in love when your husband who despised getting his picture taken, attempts to snap a few, ummm...not so planned pics!  Started with attempt #1...not ready yet, but he thought it was "in the moment" which adds character...
Nice!

Attempt #2....

Thinking making faces will inhibit you wife placing your pic in the blog...sooo untrue, sorry hunny!

Soooo, attempt #3 = wife takes control of the camera for a more serious pose...finally!

So the day begins....
After lounging in a very quite house for a while, reminicing about our wedding day & wishing we could celebrate by hopping on a plane back to Jamaica.....

#2 ~ You know you're in love when you husband, who does NOT enjoy crowds of people, takes you SHOPPING!!  Yes, we Christmas shopped for the girls and got so much accomplished!  That's such a relief and was so fun to pick out...& play with the toys ourselves.  He even drove me from one side of town to the other without any eye rolls or complaining so I could go to one of my fav stores to purchase Hailey's annual snowglobe & Lindsey's angel for their collective Christmas presents at Tuesday Mornings...LOVE that store!

So, after shopping, Chris wanted to show me one of his client's house...in case you don't know...my husband works in the granite business.  And WOW...the client was actually outside, enjoying his HU.MON.GOUS. backyard patio with an outdoor kitchen and a covered sitting area with a brick/granite fireplace, watching a football game on his flatscreen TV mounted above the fireplace...HA!  Must be nice...anyway, I was very proud of my husband & his awesome work!

So, it was time for our dinner reservations...
#3 ~ You know you're in love when your husband...who enjoys his cut off sleeve shirts & camo shorts, dresses up and takes you to a fancy restaurant!  Yes, he took me to Coach & Four...fabulous! (http://www.coachandfour.com/)
And talking about wining & dining...he ordered a fabulous & very delicious spread consisting of: bacon wrapping scallops, stuffed mushrooms w/ crabmeat, a king size prime rib, stuffed flounder w/ crabmeat, a salad & sides...did I mention, we like food?!
Unfortunately, they did not have our wedding cake flavor that we normally order on our anniversary...Red Velvet...:(  But, after all that food we had no room for dessert anyway.  At Coach & Four they usually bring out what they call a Baked Alaskian dessert that they set on fire ( for special occasions), but we couldn't even attempt to eat anything else.  So, instead...here is a pic of our fabulous wedding cake that my wonderful sister in law made for our Wedding day, December 3, 2005:

Stuffed & exhausted from a wonderful day together...we couldn't do anything else than head home & crash!  Happy Anniversary to us...and many more to come!

Finalized! ~ Hailey's Ballerina Bedroom Redo

I am totally singing the  HALLELUJAH CHORUS !  After months of contemplating Hailey's bedroom redo and realizing after I started that this was harder than expected with tons of DIY projects...it's DONE!!   Well, at least for now.  Possible that I will continue with cosmetic procedures later, but for now...here it is... Just a walk down memory lane... even though it's totally embarrassing with overflow of clutter in which I strongly dislike... Oh my...look at the bedskirt, lol!  Felt a tad bit sorry for Lindsey who thought she belonged with her favorite stuffed animals in the hammock.... But anyway, after painting her walls pink and hand painting sillhouettes of ballerinas...it was on!  I have been so greatful that God placed the perfect people in my path to finish Hailey's room with one of the Dance mom's, Jenna Pratt who exchanged a ballerina comforter set plus pillows and curtains for a video baby monitor...absolutely perfect! ...

Hailey's Dance Recital 2012

May 29, 2012...Hailey's 2nd time on the big stage!  Here she is getting ready for her 1st tap dance rehersal/recital as Pocahontas!  She's been waiting for this and loves make-up & hair day!  Lindsey enjoyed the almost vacant auditorium & watching with her friend Ella Pratt for their rehersal After rehersal...it was time to get ready for the real deal...so Mommy/Daughter mani's it was June 2, 2012...the Real Deal...can't even describe her excitement and once again, she insisted that she had no nervous bones in her body.                              Backstage with her dance friends...Autumn & Hailey Hailey & Kennedy sit in the balcony, waiting for the recital to start(at the Roanoke Civic Center)              ...

Down memory lane - Winter 2013

If there's one thing I love most, it's snow days!! Down time with fun in the snow and hot chocolate, cuddles and watching some of our favorites like Toot & Puddle, Franklin, Little Bear, The Berenstain Bears, Olivia, The Backyardigans, Sofia the First...or any Christmas movie, especially the Polar Express!  We love snow days!!                                   Nothing better than waking up to snow and homemade fun. The girls decided to dress up our snowlady and chose Snow White after looking through their dress-up clothes...neither of them wanted snow white to melt....   After thawing out and a warm bath, Lindsey always enjoyed playing with her playhouse and would always holler for me to come find her and let me know she was in her house. She loved how she could fit inside and imagination play.... . Lindsey started getting a cold but continued to smile....I mean, who doesn't love that baby...
