My Little Presents

I look forward to this week every year!  I don't need any material presents...this is my present, a week at home with my kids.  No work related interuptions, no plans...just quality time with my 2 girls.

It's such a fast paced life...work, work, work all the time.  It even takes me a few days to try to slow down sometimes.  Even Hailey asked, "Mom, what are we gonna do?" and "Mom, are we gonna go somewhere today?" for the first few days.  My answer..."NO!"  I think I'm going to go ahead and make my New Year's resolution for 2012...to slow down and spend more time "at home" with my kids...there's sooo much we can do!

There's countless hours of enterainment when you have 2 dancers & a CD player!

Unfortunately I forgot to take any pics while Hailey was decorating the Gingerbread house..Lindsey was napping & I was monitoring the home decor & cooking dinner.  This years' Gingerbread house had many flaws...like uneven walls, therefore a result of caving in & missing candy.  Oh wait, let me re-phrase that, missing candy after a little 4 year old stashed some without me knowing and then complained of a belly ache...hmmm.  But, what fun would it be if the kids didn't sneak candy or everything worked according to plan.

Hailey decided that she couldn't wait to tell Lindsey what she got her for Christmas and was trying to be sneaky.  "Lindsey, I'm so excited about what I bought you...maybe it's aaaaaa pillow? or a pet?!"  Wow, that's sneaky!  So Lindsey figured it out almost immediately and all she could do was run into every room looking for, and hollering, "pillow?!...pet?!"  Oh well.  There will be more surprises underneath the tree.  Glad both the girls have there own pillow pets...and they love them!

So....since Lindsey got to open up a Christmas present early, it was only fair to let Hailey have one too.  I figured she could enjoy this a little early!  Since she is my little ballerina...I thought this was very fitting.

Hailey really enjoyed her nativity/advent calendar this year & said it best..."All we need is Jesus."  It's so hard to wait when you're a little girl.

Lindsey enjoyed her favorite movie of the year..."Fossy tha man!"  aka ~ "Frosty the Snowman"

Oh...Craft Day ~ a day of mess!  I try so hard not to stress about it & have as much fun as they are.  It's just so hard when I see paint in places it's not supposed to be...like all over the bathroom cabinets, the walls & the kitchen floor!  But at least Hailey had good intentions and did not want to ruin my white towels.
Ah yes, glitter...you ARE my enemy!  I was so proud of Hailey though.  She's so creative & crafty.. making felt Christmas trees.
and she created her own calendar covers...no sneak peaks, family members...sorry, you'll have to wait until Christmas!

And we can't forget about Miss Lindsey...she made a mess too!  Her hair was like cardboard after shampooing it with yogurt!  Did I say I could do this everyday?

After clean-up...there's always quite time...for mommy, just kidding!  I really did LOVE spending time with my girls this week!  Messes can always be cleaned up and coloring is always fun, no matter if you are little or big.

Can I just say, "I can't wait to do it all over again next year!"

Hailey's Dance Recital 2012

May 29, 2012...Hailey's 2nd time on the big stage!  Here she is getting ready for her 1st tap dance rehersal/recital as Pocahontas!  She's been waiting for this and loves make-up & hair day!  Lindsey enjoyed the almost vacant auditorium & watching with her friend Ella Pratt for their rehersal After rehersal...it was time to get ready for the real deal...so Mommy/Daughter mani's it was June 2, 2012...the Real Deal...can't even describe her excitement and once again, she insisted that she had no nervous bones in her body.                              Backstage with her dance friends...Autumn & Hailey Hailey & Kennedy sit in the balcony, waiting for the recital to start(at the Roanoke Civic Center)              ...

1st Day of Fall 2012

What can I say, other than the 1st day of fall is absolutely beautiful! (even though my girls want to watch Christmas movies today).  Hailey isn't feeling very well, but managed to play outside and enjoy the weather for a little while...and of course get a few pics of the kiddos with our glamorous glittering pumpkins...so girly! Some other accomplishments this week...Hailey read the bedtime story 2 nights ago...might have been a "Dick & Jane" book, but mommy was so proud! Lindsey has taken on "spitting" which we are trying to break!  She also gets a big kick out of putting her mouth on mine or Chris' belly and blowing, followed by, "I pooted!!"  Yep, I think she might be our tomboy...  Hailey had the best attempt at getting Lindsey to try to stop spitting by saying, "Lindsey! Stop spitting or you're going to turn into a BOY!!"  Lindsey responded, "Oh noooo!" with her hands on her cheeks and hasn't att...

"Bootyful"

Are there any words for this?  I think every mother just loves to sneak a pic at moments like these: (Sorry girls...one day you'll understand when you become a mommy!) My little monkey, Lindsey Grace(2yrs): As opposed to Hailey's bootyful pic at 7 months:                                                                        Love them!!
