Hailey's 1st Dance Recital

The BIG day started out with tons of gel, hairspray, hot rollers & about $50 worth of make-up...was it worth it?  Absolutely!  I have never been so proud of my baby girl.  She has never had a shy bone in her body and was so excited to finally dance on "her" big stage today.
Hailey & I arrived about an hour early and had fun with the other girls in her class...everyone looked so beautiful and really set the stage for what was about to happen.  So many dancers & chaos backstage!  Memories of my childhood were rushing back & watching Hailey so excited almost made me cry...almost.
It was almost time for the show to start, so I gave Hailey a kiss and told her..."no matter what happens, just have fun!"  She turned to me and said, "Don't worry mom, I'll remember everything."  I think I have a perfectionist on my hands.

Sitting in the audience with my family...I almost cried again...almost.  And of course they anounced that there would be no flash photography nor video taping!  Not to worry...they just wanted to make money.  Professionals were standing by for photography as well as a video...to buy after the show. (http://www.russelldickersonphotography.photoreflect.com/).
Hailey's class was to 2nd to perform...as they were getting in place, the butterflies began.  BUT, Hailey as well as all the girls in her class pulled it off...they were awesome!  Can I just reiterate how good they did!  For 4 yr olds & in general...WOW!  I was soooo proud of her.  Chris and I both met her out in the hallway after her performance to give her the biggest hug and let her know how proud we were!  Chris gave her a pink rose...in which she is still extremely proud of!  Her response when I asked if she was nervous, "no!  That was so much fun mom...I wanna do it again!"

Poor quality, I know...but without a flash, it's hard to get a good pic.  May I just make a joke now?  As there teacher was telling the parents why they had to wear make-up, she said, "one very important reason was, when the lights are on them, you will be able to see their faces..."  Ha!  Anyway, they danced to 'I'll Have a Blue Christmas, Without You."

Hailey wanted to stay for the rest of the performances, so we returned to our seats and took more pics after the show.  Overall, she had the time of her life & enjoyed watching the rest of the show.  Her favorite were the ballerina's in white and one in particular with a tiara...thus the picture. Thank goodness we found her in the crowd!

Bye Bye Long Hair!

So, I usually wait until I'm sitting in the chair at the hair salon to decided exactly what I want to do with my hair.  I've been going to the same hair dresser for over 10years and she knows me well.  I mentioned that Hailey has been wanting me to cut my hair short for a while now...similar to when I cut it off when she was only 15months old.  She has held onto a picture of me with short hair...so.....last minute decisions, decisions.                                                    Bye Bye long hair!  Hello short hair!  Hailey was very surprised & happy when my sister brought her the the salon to see the after math!  So, she requested to go home and take pictures of us...and it wouldn't b...

1st Day of Fall 2012

What can I say, other than the 1st day of fall is absolutely beautiful! (even though my girls want to watch Christmas movies today).  Hailey isn't feeling very well, but managed to play outside and enjoy the weather for a little while...and of course get a few pics of the kiddos with our glamorous glittering pumpkins...so girly! Some other accomplishments this week...Hailey read the bedtime story 2 nights ago...might have been a "Dick & Jane" book, but mommy was so proud! Lindsey has taken on "spitting" which we are trying to break!  She also gets a big kick out of putting her mouth on mine or Chris' belly and blowing, followed by, "I pooted!!"  Yep, I think she might be our tomboy...  Hailey had the best attempt at getting Lindsey to try to stop spitting by saying, "Lindsey! Stop spitting or you're going to turn into a BOY!!"  Lindsey responded, "Oh noooo!" with her hands on her cheeks and hasn't att...
