Twas the Night Before Christmas...

Christmas Eve started our family celebration of Jesus' Birthday!  It began with finishing up & wrapping some homemade gifts and we couldn't forget to make Santa some cookies!  Hailey also reminded me that we needed to leave carrot sticks & apples for the reindeer so they will have tons of energy to fly...

The party started at Mary(my sister in law) & Paul's house...

every year Santa sends Hailey a message via http://www.portablenorthpole.tv/!  This is always so exciting & calls for a family gathering to see if she's been a good girl this year...of course she has.  He even commented on events this year, like her 1 "real" beach vacation and her 1st dance recital...that was really cool!

Then it was time to chow down on ham biscuits, mac n' cheese, veggie pizza, sausage balls, stuffed celery...you name it, it was there...and good!  The girls even brought over some of there cookies for dessert, but Lindsey found Nani's snickerdoodle cookies to be even better(and softer).

Then it was time to open presents...Oh, the clothes, barbies, toys, even Hailey wrapped up some of her belongings and attempted to give them away(a hairbow to go in Mary's hair) etc...BUT, the biggest surprise was for me?  Everyone told me to wait, while Mary ran to get her camera...Chris and I had no idea what was in the box...and to be honest, it still didn't hit me right away when I opened it either.  YAY!!  It was a bridesmaid dress!  I'm going to be in her wedding!  Very cool!

Then, it was time to go home & track Santa via http://www.noradsanta.org/ ...he was headed to the U.S.!!  Time for bed...

Finalized! ~ Hailey's Ballerina Bedroom Redo

I am totally singing the  HALLELUJAH CHORUS !  After months of contemplating Hailey's bedroom redo and realizing after I started that this was harder than expected with tons of DIY projects...it's DONE!!   Well, at least for now.  Possible that I will continue with cosmetic procedures later, but for now...here it is... Just a walk down memory lane... even though it's totally embarrassing with overflow of clutter in which I strongly dislike... Oh my...look at the bedskirt, lol!  Felt a tad bit sorry for Lindsey who thought she belonged with her favorite stuffed animals in the hammock.... But anyway, after painting her walls pink and hand painting sillhouettes of ballerinas...it was on!  I have been so greatful that God placed the perfect people in my path to finish Hailey's room with one of the Dance mom's, Jenna Pratt who exchanged a ballerina comforter set plus pillows and curtains for a video baby monitor...absolutely perfect! ...

Hailey's Dance Recital 2012

May 29, 2012...Hailey's 2nd time on the big stage!  Here she is getting ready for her 1st tap dance rehersal/recital as Pocahontas!  She's been waiting for this and loves make-up & hair day!  Lindsey enjoyed the almost vacant auditorium & watching with her friend Ella Pratt for their rehersal After rehersal...it was time to get ready for the real deal...so Mommy/Daughter mani's it was June 2, 2012...the Real Deal...can't even describe her excitement and once again, she insisted that she had no nervous bones in her body.                              Backstage with her dance friends...Autumn & Hailey Hailey & Kennedy sit in the balcony, waiting for the recital to start(at the Roanoke Civic Center)              ...

Down memory lane - Winter 2013

If there's one thing I love most, it's snow days!! Down time with fun in the snow and hot chocolate, cuddles and watching some of our favorites like Toot & Puddle, Franklin, Little Bear, The Berenstain Bears, Olivia, The Backyardigans, Sofia the First...or any Christmas movie, especially the Polar Express!  We love snow days!!                                   Nothing better than waking up to snow and homemade fun. The girls decided to dress up our snowlady and chose Snow White after looking through their dress-up clothes...neither of them wanted snow white to melt....   After thawing out and a warm bath, Lindsey always enjoyed playing with her playhouse and would always holler for me to come find her and let me know she was in her house. She loved how she could fit inside and imagination play.... . Lindsey started getting a cold but continued to smile....I mean, who doesn't love that baby...
