So today was a 1st for Hailey. After months of being very interested in weddings, wedding dresses and beautiful brides...she has ALWAYS reinforced that she had no intention of EVER getting married! I even have proof on video tape! No, she wants to live with mommy & daddy forever! And...of course, that is perfectly fine with us!
On the drive home today, Hailey mentioned a boy named, Charlie. Oh dear. First she mentioned that he was her BFF at her Bible Study(she goes to Bonsack Baptist Church every Wed with Mimi for her Bible Study). Then she proceeded to tell me that he was a Godly boy with good manners and was very handsome...wait til daddy hears this! After smiling and non stop talking about this Charlie boy having the same color eyes, hair and skin as her, she began to tell me during play time on the playground, he gave her a flower. But, she gave it back? Yes, she gave it back and told him to keep it until they got married and then he could give it back to her. Yikes!
I questioned her...married?! I thought you were never getting married? Her response, "Mom! I'm never getting married until I growed old like you. And daddy says when I'm 40, I can get married." Well, I will have to meet this boy named Charlie...and as for Chris, well, he still says, "Maybe...when she's 40!"
At least she seems to have good taste...with the characteristics of "Godly" and "good manners"...she on the right track!
