The Color Pink ~ Phase 1 of Hailey's Bedroom Redo

What girl doesn't Love the color Pink?!  How appropriate for Valentine's day...the cutest cards & cupcakes made by my precious daughter's!  And Red Velvet cake at that, my favorite!



What else is Pink?!  Great question...
With Hailey's birthday coming up this Sunday(Feb 19th, she turns 5!)...sigh, I decided to change up my "home projects" priorities and redo Hailey's bedroom.  Since the Tinkerbell theme as turned into a "busy" room full of mix & match decor with pink's & purple's...black & browns...and well, just plain chaotic!  We decided to compromise on just...Pink & white...and of course, a ballerina/princess theme! 

All I can say is, I had no idea what I was getting myself into!

Here is the before "chaos" room...embarrassing! Can't believe I took the only before picture with her bedskirt in shambels!


I must say...my sweet Lindsey will certainly miss her stuffed animal "hang out."  Now..where to put all of these stuffed animals that take over your house?  And if you're wondering what she has in her mouth...it's the stuffed bunny rabbit's leash that was required by Hailey.

So on with the "Redo"...   I let Hailey paint the first few strokes, so she could say that she helped paint her room..Pink!  Then it was time to lock the door & open the window to complete the painting. 

Because she wanted a Pink Ballerina/Princess theme...I decided that I would go out on a limb and paint a mural.  Someone suggested to get wall decals, but for some reason, my crafty/artsy side came out and I said, "instead of buying...why not just draw & paint it!"
So after 2 nights of graphing out my picture that I printed from the computer...and graphing on the wall to get the same proportions...the drawing started...





So tonight I painted the ballerinas one shade darker that my wall paint...
Hailey absolutely loves how it turned out...but now has requested glitter on them...ugh!  Well see...

Did I mention I love her new bedding...and for Free!!  Yes, I love "even trades!"


So that completes Phase 1 of Hailey's Bedroom Redo!  Wondering how many Phases there will be...we shall see...

Bye Bye Long Hair!

So, I usually wait until I'm sitting in the chair at the hair salon to decided exactly what I want to do with my hair.  I've been going to the same hair dresser for over 10years and she knows me well.  I mentioned that Hailey has been wanting me to cut my hair short for a while now...similar to when I cut it off when she was only 15months old.  She has held onto a picture of me with short hair...so.....last minute decisions, decisions.                                                    Bye Bye long hair!  Hello short hair!  Hailey was very surprised & happy when my sister brought her the the salon to see the after math!  So, she requested to go home and take pictures of us...and it wouldn't b...

1st Day of Fall 2012

What can I say, other than the 1st day of fall is absolutely beautiful! (even though my girls want to watch Christmas movies today).  Hailey isn't feeling very well, but managed to play outside and enjoy the weather for a little while...and of course get a few pics of the kiddos with our glamorous glittering pumpkins...so girly! Some other accomplishments this week...Hailey read the bedtime story 2 nights ago...might have been a "Dick & Jane" book, but mommy was so proud! Lindsey has taken on "spitting" which we are trying to break!  She also gets a big kick out of putting her mouth on mine or Chris' belly and blowing, followed by, "I pooted!!"  Yep, I think she might be our tomboy...  Hailey had the best attempt at getting Lindsey to try to stop spitting by saying, "Lindsey!
