Ever since Friday, my sweet Lindsey has not been feeling well, with watery eyes and a little discharge coming from them. No irritation or redness, just goupy stuff... Over the past few days, it has seemed to get a little worse. To make matters worse, Hailey woke up this morning only able to open one eye...great.
I was able to get an appt with Dr. Cumming this morning for both girls. The Verdict: A rare case of conjuctivitis "pink eye". Hailey's was more common, but Lindsey did not have the classic symptoms and her tear ducts were infected. Equals: eye drops 2x/day plus oral anitbiotics...seriously?! Just give me the title "Mean Mommy!"
Hailey is very over dramatic anyway, and now we are adding something totally new and scary. Wow...Day #1 finished with tons of screaming, tears and almost restraining, only to find out . . . tada! I didn't hurt!! YAY!
Poor Lindsey got restrained in her car seat...both hands held and tipped backward, gosh. Way to make a parent feel terrible! It worked, and of course, tons of tears, but at least she doesn't mind the oral meds and still wanted hugs afterward.
I was beginning to feel a little under the weather myself...could it be a cold?...or the "Mean Mommy" Syndrome? Who knows. All I know, is Umcka, the miracle, over the counter, no more antibiotics for a cold/sinus infection, shhh..don't tell the doctors kind of herbal remedy. It works everytime. No more colds...EVER!
I needed to return to "the good side" quickly, and today was a beautiful Feburary day (almost 70 degrees), so I treated the girls to a backyard picnic with one of their favorites...watermelon, chips and yogurt(w/ probiotics for their tummy's). Hailey brought her new addition to the family...Clarabell(the dog balloon).
This week is my 7 day staycation...not how I plan it, but wonderful time with my girls, time to reorganize the home, get caught up on laundry and time to finish...well, hopefully finish Hailey's bedroom redo as well as other crafts, thanks to Pinterest!
1st project:
What does a bunch of tulle, a knitting wooden ring and ribbon make?
A Canopy!! Yes, wrap the ribbon around the wooden ring, clasp together with tulle between, screw the hook in ceiling and waaaa laaaa!
Just to remind you of what this half of the room looked like before...
Ugh! Just Aweful! And, if you notice the toy box to the left.....
A little bit of primer, white paint and some Pinterest ideas...waaa laaa!
I even flipped Hailey's white bookcase on it's side...added her new pink "Tangled" body pillow to start a little Nook for Hailey and Lindsey...so cute! I plan on putting up shelves and more decor later.
Another great find...(as you can tell, I'm loving redecorating with my own stuff as well as bargain shopping...goodwill, to find old or real wood decor or furniture that I can redo or paint!)
A little primer and a little white paint for a little girly girl who loves her accessories...
And now for a little "time out"...yes, everyone needs a time out sometimes, including me. So here's the last of my great finds/crafts for now:
Can anyone guess what this will be???
Yes, this is my "quiet place"...since no one is allowing to talk to the girl sitting on the "time out" stool! And as for the kids, well...it will probably turn into a step stool in the bathroom...:) We'll see.
