It was Monday, July 12, 2010...I went to work as usual, not thinking that I would go into labor since Lindsey's due date was the 18th. I had a very productive & organized day(more so than usual)...getting everything squared away for all my patients, co-workers & my paperwork. I was cooking dinner & Chris was outside on the phone with his boss...when I noticed my water breaking! Everything was very subtle this time...I knew what to expect too, so that helped! I went outside to tell Chris that he needed to eat dinner...after he told me, "I'll be in in a little while," I so politely said..."If you want to eat, you need to come in right NOW!" Which in turn lead me to explain what happened. The last thing that I wanted was my husband to get nervous & panic, but...oh well, it happens! We packed the car, took Hailey to Mary's(my sister in law) and headed to the hospital. I started feeling mild contractions, but more pressure than anything. As we made our phone calls to our families...I began to remember the doc saying, "first signs of anything, come straight to the hospital, because you're carrying her very low and she's probably going to come quick!" HELLO!! I wanted an epideral....go faster!
We parked the truck and along with my soaking britches, waddled into the hospital, up the elevators...straight to the LOCKED doors to enter the OB dept!!! Luckily, my soon-to-be "epidural man" was standing at the elevator when he heard me ever so, ummm, LOUDLY say, "THERE GOING TO HAVE TO CLEAN UP THIS FLOOR IF THEY DON'T LET ME IN!!!" Mr. epidural man ran over to swipe his card...thus, the doors opened! Needless to say, everything went pretty smooth and they were right! Lindsey Grace only took 4hours & 17mins to say "hellooooo world!" Weighing in at 7lbs, 6.5oz...18 & 1/4 inches long...PERFECT!
Dr. Clapp....I was so lucky to have her deliver both of my girls!!
L&D nurse, Shara was great! And she was hoping to see baby Lindsey before the end of her shift at 11pm...Lindsey arrived at 10:47pm! She got her wish...:)
I couldn't help but snap a few shots the 1st night after feeding her...it's so hard to sleep after the excitement of a miracle like this!
and she's wearing the same knit cap the Hailey wore in the hospital...
Aunt Julie comes to visit...
Father/Daughter moment...sweet.
